WHIMSY & WONDER

The Liberty Hill Interactive Art & Music Experience
May 16 | 6-10pm
Downtown Liberty Hill
Free Admission, Free Parking, Food available for purchase

The City of Liberty Hill is a proud supporter of the arts in the community, and on May 16, it transforms downtown’s Main Street into a wonderland that stirs the imagination and indulges the senses at every turn.

At Whimsy & Wonder, you’ll learn to expect the unexpected as you wander through an eclectic fusion of everything whimsical and wonderful! Downtown businesses will transform into art galleries hosting works from local artists, while live art demonstrations and live music will keep you entertained as you sample wine and food from local restaurants. Six bands will play their hearts out, with Minor Mishap Marching Band kicking off the festivities, and Dale Watson finishing the party with an after-show.

Outside, Main Street will be filled with performers, stilt walkers and local artisans. World-renowned Magician Cody S. Fisher will wow visitors with street magic, and a strolling caricature artist will draw guests on the spot. Visitors can take photos in front of the 10 ft digital graffiti wall, send old-fashioned postcards home to friends, and try their hand at drawing a live model.

A children’s Imagination Garden will house interactive art exhibits and craft booths. The Imagination Garden will also feature shows by Hideout Theater throughout the evening. Hideout has been tickling the funny bones of Central Texas for 12 years through improvised comedy where unique stories unfold based on the suggestions of the kids in the audience.

Festival goers will be able to watch live art demonstrations including pancake artists, sidewalk chalk artists and Austin’s very own Dirty Car Artist, Scott Wade, in action. Pedicab drivers will be downtown to transport visitors from downtown street parking and parking lots.

“Liberty Hill has a rich tradition of celebrating the arts that started more than 40 years ago when sculptors came from across the world to create magnificent pieces of art here. Over the years, our community known for its peaceful rural setting has continued to attract the most creative of artists, musicians and free thinkers, and we look for opportunities to celebrate and share their talents with our Central Texas neighbors,” said Liberty Hill Mayor Rick Hall.

Whimsy & Wonder is an event like none other. Visitors can interact with artists, musicians and street performers, while being dazzled with magical opportunities to create, enjoy and be entertained. The evening promises to be a memorable experience for all ages.
