LEAD & COPPER PIPE TESTING
TCEQ Tap Sampling Program
DEADLINE: AUGUST 24TH
The Lead & Copper Rule (LCR) protects public health by minimizing lead and copper levels in drinking water, primarily by reducing corrosion of plumbing materials. Exposure to lead and copper may cause health problems ranging from stomach distress to brain damage.
If you want to confirm that your plumbing is safe for your drinking water, City of Liberty Hill water customers can sign up for free testing through a TCEQ program.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Public Works will deliver a sample kit to your home.
2. The following morning (6 hours after no water use), participants will fill the provided bottle with cold tap water from the bathroom or kitchen sink.
3. Leave sample kit on your front porch for pickup or deliver to City Hall.
