Dear Liberty Hill Community,

Over the Fourth of July weekend, our community faced an unexpected and devastating flood event. What was meant to be a time of celebration quickly turned into a time of crisis for many of our families, friends, and neighbors.

My heart goes out to every resident who has been impacted by this disaster—those who experienced damage to their homes, businesses, and property, and those who are now faced with the difficult road to recovery. Please know that you are not alone.

In the midst of this hardship, I have also witnessed something truly inspiring: the strength, generosity, and resilience of Liberty Hill. Volunteers, first responders, city crews, churches, and local organizations immediately stepped up to provide help, shelter, donations, and support. The compassion shown by our residents is what makes Liberty Hill such a special place.

We know the recovery process will take time, but the City of Liberty Hill is committed to doing everything we can to assist those in need. We are coordinating with regional and state agencies, and we will continue sharing resources, recovery updates, and ways to help on this website.

I encourage anyone who needs assistance or who would like to volunteer to visit this page for more information.

Liberty Hill, we will get through this—together.

With heartfelt gratitude and strength,

Mayor Crystal Mancilla ♥

REPORT PROPERTY DAMAGE

The Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool (iSTAT) is crucial for understanding the extent of damage after a disaster and determining if Texas and its communities meet federal requirements for disaster assistance. It helps emergency management officials assess damages to homes and businesses and identify immediate resource needs. Reporting damage through iSTAT is voluntary but contributes valuable information to the overall assessment process.

RECOVERY TIPS

Make sure your home is safe to enter

  • Check for structural damage before going inside. You may need help from licensed professionals to assess whether your home is safe.

Create a recovery plan

  • Before beginning cleanup or repairs, take time to assess the damage and outline a recovery plan. A clear plan helps prioritize tasks and can save time and money.

Document the damage

  • As you clean up, make a detailed list and take photos or videos of all damage. Good documentation is essential for insurance claims, disaster assistance applications and potential tax deductions.

Keep all records and documentation in a safe, accessible place (such as an envelope in your car)

  • Be sure to include:
    • Damage to the building
    • Damage to contents inside the building
    • Receipts for cleanup and restoration expenses (materials, labor, equipment rental)
    • Receipts for flood-related costs (such as motel stays)

Explore financial assistance options

  • Contact your mortgage provider to discuss available relief options
  • Notify your insurance agent about the damage to begin the claims process
  • Use credit cards with caution and only if necessary

Stay connected with your family

  • Open communication is important. Emotional strain and uncertainty can take a toll. Talk about your plans and work together as you move forward.
